Possible causes of conductive and mixed hearing loss:
- Chronic otitis media
- Congenital causes
- Aural atresia and/or Microtia
- External otitis
- Cholesteatoma
- Otosclerosis
- Traumatic injury to middle ear structures
- Other Ossicular disease
The above conditions may occur in isolation, resulting in a conductive hearing loss, or along with a cochlear hearing loss component, resulting in a mixed hearing loss.
